Dzyatlavichy 2016 / Дзятлавічы 2016

Our first private screening in Belarus was in Dzyatlavichy village, where  back in 2011 we recorded our singing stars. When I first found them on the YouTube, it was obvious right away that these will be THE babushakas of the movie – they looked and sounded like rock stars. Filming them was an absolute blast too: we used "fancy" skateboard slides and lighting, and sweet babushkas were true troopers, holding through four to five takes of each song.
At the screening of the film on April 29, 2016 there were about 150 people among whom where not only our babushkas, but also kids as young as 7-8 years old. Some of the girls were sitting behind me, so I heard the most immediate, sweet and sincere feedback as they watched the film, and my heart simply melted when they started to sing along with elderly ladies on the screen.

Dzyatlavichy singing stars were touched and very proud, they told me that they did not believe me  that I was making a movie until they saw it. They also told me that many folks used to come and record them, but only a few shared final results with them.
Two of the oldest singers are no longer with us, and the rest of them do not perform anymore because of the  health issues.
Дзятлавічы любімыя! Закрыты прагляд у Дзятлавічах адбыўся 29 красавіка. Прыйшло каля 150 чалавек. Апроч бабуляў былі дзеткі, каментары якіх мне пашансіла чуць падчас прагляду. Канешне, самым чулым момантам для мяне было, калі дзяўчынкі пачалі падпяваць бабулям песні, якія гучалі ў фільме. Дзятлавічскія красуні ў стужке атрымаліся вельмі прыгожымі, нібыта рок-зоркі. Для гэтага і мы папрацавалі, здымаючы іх ў 2011 годзе "галівудскім" абсталяваннем, і яны вытрымалі доўгія здымкі з некалькімі дублямі кожнай песні. Расчуліся, ганарыліся, сказалі, што не верылі, што я з Амерыкі і што я фільм здымаю, што шмат хто да іх прыяжджалі, рабілі запісы, а канчатковыя праекты прывозілі і паказвалі адзінкі.
Дзвух спявачак са старэйшага калектыву ўжо з намі няма, а астатнія старэйшыя не спяваюць з-за слабога здароў'я.
